ALFEITE DOCKYARD

With the demise of LISNAVE's major Margueira yard the largest shipyard still active in Lisbon is Portugues Navy's ALFEITE DOCKYARD, where many ships were built and refitted over the last 70 years.
On 5 July 2010 it looked very atmospheric and beautiful as part of an industrial landscape of the past. Still lots of cranes and small ships.
In the picture the white ship is Portuguese Navy's survey ship D. CARLOS I undergoing a refit.
